Essential Victory

Commander of Kornidzor, freedom fighter Ara Khudaverdyan’s grandfathers died during the Great Patriotic War. However, Ara had decided to follow his grandfathers, continue their work, so he took part in Artsakh War. He says:” My grandfathers have broken the monster’s backbone, while our generation cut off the monster’s head.” Freedom fighter tells till the liberation of Shushi we have had both small and big victories and defeats as well, but with the liberation of Shushi we put an end to any kind of moral victories and a new phase for natural victories began. Participation in the liberation was a great honor for freedom fighters. Mr. Khudaverdyan recalls that many of them were upset that they had to stay at the border and not to participate in the historical event.
