This year Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Holy Easter, Christ’s miraculous Resurrection, on April 5. Easter is movable feast and is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon that follows the vernal equinox. The date of Easter varies from year to year between 22 March and 25 April. On Easter Eve Mass is served in churches. Every believing Christian must fast, confess his/her sins before the liturgy, and after it receive communion – bread and wine that symbolizes the blood and body of Jesus Christ. Traditionally on Easter day people greet each other with the following words: “Christ is risen from the dead”, and the answer to it is: “Blesses is the Resurrection of Christ”.
